Michael Gangemi
Co-Managing Partner & Co-Founder

Mr. Michael Gangemi co-founded WNG Capital in February 2009. He has been involved in structured finance, including aviation, and structured credit trading for 25 years. Prior to forming WNG, Mr. Gangemi was the Managing Director and Head of the Special Situations Group (SSG) at Deutsche Bank. Within SSG, Mr. Gangemi established and managed the aircraft investment and portfolio financing businesses. From 2003 through 2008, SSG invested in and disposed of 16 aircraft utilizing operating leases, and underwrote and syndicated in excess of $4 billion of aircraft portfolio financing. Mr. Gangemi was also responsible for origination, distribution and trading of credit and asset risk in a wide range of physical and financial assets subject to lease and other illiquid forms of contractual claims involving intellectual property, insurance, containers, shipping and legal settlements. Prior to DB, Mr. Gangemi was the Managing Director and Deputy Chairman of New Boston Partners Ltd. in London and the Managing Director of BTM Capital Corporation.

Al Nigro,
Co-Managing Partner & Co-Founder

Mr. Al Nigro co-founded WNG Capital in February 2009. He has 32 years of aerospace experience with extensive roles in flight test, engineering, sales, finance and leasing. Prior to forming WNG, Mr. Nigro was a Director and one of the founders of Deutsche Bank’s aircraft investment and portfolio finance businesses. Prior to DB, Al was Senior Vice President of the Commercial Aviation Finance Group at Bank of America. Mr. Nigro has completed transactions involving over 450 aircraft with a combined market value in excess of $9.4 billion with airlines operating in 21 different countries. Prior to Bank of America, Mr. Nigro worked in aircraft operating leasing at Sanwa Business Credit Corp and Mitsui & Co. Mr. Nigro began his career at McDonnell Douglas Corp (now Boeing) as an Aircraft Design Engineer and an Experimental Flight Test Engineer and later as Director of Marketing in Southeast Asia. Mr. Nigro was the Lessor Representative on the Board of Directors of Spirit Airlines, and was an advisor to the Board of the John Wayne Airport Working Group.

Elizabeth (Lisa) Johnson

Elizabeth (Lisa) Johnson
Senior Counsel & Co-Founder

Ms. Lisa Johnson co-founded WNG Capital in February 2009. She has over 20 years of experience practicing law in the finance industry beginning as a finance attorney at Csaplar & Bok law firm in Boston, Massachusetts. After sixteen (16) years at BTMU Capital Corporation, a subsidiary of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., where she structured and managed equipment leasing and loan transactions for aircraft, vessels, railcars and containers, Ms. Johnson joined Deutsche Bank AG. At DB Ms. Johnson was a member of the aviation finance and investment team and was responsible for all aspects of legal due diligence and documentation for Deutsche Bank AG’s aircraft investment business. Ms. Johnson’s role at Deutsche Bank AG ranged from the legal review of all term sheets, letters of intent and legal documentation, to review of local law issues with local counsel, engagement and management of outside counsel relationships and coordination of documentation and closing of all purchases, leases and aircraft sales.

Bobby Nishi

Bobby Nishi
Executive Director

Mr. Bobby Nishi is the Executive Director at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for coordinating sales, leasing and marketing for the firm as well as direct marketing to airlines and leasing companies. He has over 20 years of experience in the aircraft leasing industry with extensive roles in sales, marketing, business development, aircraft trading and law. Prior to joining WNG in 2014, Mr. Nishi worked at MC Aviation Partners as a Senior Vice President and the Head of Aircraft Trading and Legal Division. At MC Aviation, he negotiated the sale and leaseback of new and used aircraft with airlines in Central/Latin America, Asia and Europe. Prior to MC Aviation, Mr. Nishi was the Vice President of Business Development at Aviation Capital Group Corporation. In this role, he was responsible for the sale and marketing of new and used aircraft to airlines. Mr. Nishi began his career in 1998 at Tombo Aviation, where he was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. His primary responsibilities included managing and documenting all aspects of purchase, sale and lease transactions for commercial aircraft.

Peter Sorkin

Peter Sorkin
Transaction Director

Mr. Peter Sorkin is the Transaction Director at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for managing aircraft assets including coordination of transaction related technical, marketing and legal activities and forecasting of anticipated maintenance events and related investments. He has over 17 years of experience in commercial aviation investment activity, including aircraft leasing, portfolio management and capital markets transactions. Prior to joining WNG in February 2016, Mr. Sorkin was the President of AirFinance Advisors, where he advised clients on financing transactions involving commercial aviation assets. Prior to AirFinance, Mr. Sorkin worked at Knight Capital Group. In his role as Managing Director of Airline Trading & Capital Markets, he conducted research on fixed income securities to support trading activity in the commercial aviation investment grade and high yield markets. During his tenure at Knight Capital, he generated in excess of $1 billion of trading volume of airline issued bonds, trade claims and loans. Prior to Knight Capital, Mr. Sorkin was a Trading Desk Analyst within the Special Situations Group at Banc of America Securities, where he originated and directed strategies to acquire commercial aircraft operated by U.S. mainline and regional carriers. The total acquisitions involved over 30 aircraft, representing approximately $350 million in asset value. He was also the Vice President of Credit & Operations within the Commercial Aviation Finance Division at Banc of America Leasing. In this role, he was responsible for the credit and business operations of a unit managing $1.5 billion of commercial aircraft investments. Mr. Sorkin started his career as a Credit Manager at Fleet Capital Leasing in 1994.

William E. Furlong
Commercial Officer

Mr. William (Bill) Furlong is an independent contractor acting as Commercial Officer at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for managing commercial aspects of aircraft transitions.He has over 26 years of experience in the aviation finance industry and over 40 years of professional experience. Mr. Furlong has held numerous roles in leasing, consulting, audit, finance and lending. In addition to his role at WNG, Mr. Furlong worked with Deutsche Bank as an Aircraft Lease Consultant, where he was responsible for the negotiation of domestic and international aircraft lease, purchase and sale transactions. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2006, Mr. Furlong worked at BTM Capital Corporation as the Senior Vice President of Lease Negotiation. He was responsible for development of transaction structures for sales and syndication personnel in order to achieve corporate economic goals. Mr. Furlong was the lead negotiator on all lease and debt transactions. Prior to BTM Capital, Mr. Furlong was the Senior Lending Officer in the Real Estate & Syndications Division at Xerox Credit Corporation. Mr. Furlong originally joined the company as a Manager in the Leveraged Leasing Department. He also managed XCC and a joint venture portfolio aggregating $1.6 billion in assets. Prior to joining Xerox, Mr. Furlong worked at The Pittston Company from 1970 to 1988, where he became Vice President and Treasurer. During his tenure at Pittston he negotiated the acquisition and lease financing of fourteen aircraft.

Ben Jacques

Ben Jacques
Marketing Director

Mr. Ben Jacques is Marketing Director at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for aircraft marketing and airline relationships in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He brings over 16 years of experience in the aircraft industry with extensive roles in marketing, risk management, safety, operations and commercial activities. Prior to joining WNG in October 2014, Mr. Jacques was the Commercial Manager at the International Bureau of Aviation, (IBA) where he managed their daily commercial activities. During his tenure at the IBA he brought new products to market and developed new types of revenue streams, which subsequently led to a growth period for the organization. Prior to IBA, Mr. Jacques was Group Quality Manager at Air Partner PLC, where he was responsible for the quality, safety and risk management functions. After 6 months in this role, Air Partner Quality System passed audits from two oil and gas industry companies after changes were implemented by Mr. Jacques. Mr. Jacques was also a Sub-Charter and Leasing Specialist at Air Partner where he was a leading member of the leasing team. During financial year 2008, Mr. Jacques achieved 140% of the annual sales target and had a 70% increase in new client numbers over previous years. Mr. Jacques joined Air Partner as an Operations Duty Officer. Before Air Partner, Mr. Jacques was a Flight Dispatcher and Online Trainer at Groundstar UK. He started his career at BMI British Midland in February 2001 as a Customer Service Agent.

C. Thomas Keeler

C. Thomas Keeler
Technical Director

Mr. C. Thomas (Tom) Keeler is the Technical Director at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for coordinating planning and execution of aircraft technical inspections, transitions and lessee technical compliance. He has over 16 years of experience working with senior-level engineers and executives in the airline, aircraft and engine leasing and maintenance industries. Prior to joining WNG in February 2012, he was the Director of Technical Records at JT Power, where he maintained the technical records for their engines and airframes, and evaluated aircraft and engines to determine their technical and financial merits. Prior to JT Power, Mr. Keeler was President of Keeler Consulting. The firm concentrated on aircraft and turbine engine product/project management. Mr. Keeler began his career at GE Engine Leasing and then moved on to Willis Lease Finance Corporation as the Technical Services Records Coordinator. In this role, he performed on-site facilitation of engine purchases and assisted with leased engine returns.

Carlos Mesquita

Carlos Mesquita

Mr. Carlos Mesquita is an independent contractor providing technical inspection, maintenance planning and transition management services to WNG Capital. He brings over 13 years of aircraft maintenance engineering experience. Mr. Mesquita is currently an Aircraft Technical Consultant for CMF Aviation Services, where he is responsible for providing inspection services and aircraft maintenance planning. He is also responsible for providing total onsite aircraft transition support. Prior to contracting with WNG in March 2015, Mr. Mesquita was an Engineering and Fleet Manager at Webjet Linhas Aereas, where he oversaw the maintenance of the Boeing 737 aircraft including Engineering, Maintenance Planning, and Records department. He was also responsible for coordinating the fleet management related activities. Mr. Mesquita joined the organization as a Powerplant Engineering Manager, and was responsible for analyzing engines and APUs as well as planning the entire engine removals and shop visit program. Prior to Webjet Linhas Aereas, Mr. Mesquita was a Powerplant Engineer at VRG Linhas Aereas, where he analyzed the technical documents behind various engines. Mr. Mesquita started his career at Varig Airlines in January 2004 as an Engineer Trainee at the Aircraft Structures Department.

Richard Hatcher
Technical Inspector

Mr. Richard Hatcher is an independent contractor providing technical inspection, maintenance planning and transition management services to WNG Capital. He has over 38 years of experience in the aircraft industry with various roles in maintenance, consulting and operations. Mr. Hatcher is currently the Vice President and COO of Aviation Technical Consulting, where he is responsible for all aspects of technical consulting, auditing and the inspection of commercial and private aircraft. Prior to contracting with WNG in January 2014, Mr. Hatcher has held positions as Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance at Big Sky Airlines, where he was responsible for the overall leadership and development of a 121 carrier’s maintenance division. Prior to Big Sky Airlines, Mr. Hatcher was the Director of Maintenance Operations at Mesaba Airlines. In this role, he managed the Mesaba Airlines Maintenance Operations Department. Previously, Mr. Hatcher was the Director of Aircraft Maintenance at Allegheny Airlines, where he was responsible for the overall planning, implementation and production of the aircraft maintenance department. Prior to Allegheny Airlines, Mr. Hatcher was an Aircraft Maintenance Manager at both Northwest Airlines Corporation and Atlantic Coast Airlines. He held similar roles at both organizations, where he oversaw their maintenance departments. Mr. Hatcher was also a Maintenance Control Manager at Wings West Airlines. Mr. Hatcher began his career in the US Air Force and held various supervisory positions within the Aircraft Maintenance Department.

Mr. Wenbo Su is a Senior Analyst at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for coordinating investment underwriting and credit analysis. He has over 4 years of experience in the aircraft industry with extensive roles in underwriting and financial analysis. Prior to joining WNG in March 2013, Mr. Su’s professional experience included investment analysis, corporate finance, and accounting. In addition to his role as an analyst at WNG, Mr. Su is a Senior Advisor at Cayu Consulting LLC. Mr. Su began his professional career as an Investment Associate at Harding Loevner, where he worked with global public equity investments. He also held internship positions at GE Capital, Rothstein Kass, and GEICO. Mr. Su speaks both English and Chinese.

Hoainam (Nam) Duong

Hoainam (Nam) Duong

Mr. Hoainam Duong is an Analyst at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for transaction modeling, investment committee memos, market analysis, and office operations. He brings over 12 years of aircraft related experience with extensive roles in sales, marketing, finance and engineering. Prior to joining WNG in February 2014, Mr. Duong was a Senior Sales & Marketing Analyst at Bombardier Flexjet, where he built analytical models used to guide the strategic direction of the Sales and Marketing Department. He originally joined Bombardier Learjet as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, he was responsible for designing and analyzing part modifications and installations for aircraft. Prior to Bombardier Flexjet, Mr. Duong worked for the Technology Transfer Development Office at Los Alamos National Laboratory as an MBA intern, where he prepared early stage startups for capital investment by preparing financial projections and business plans. Before Los Alamos National Laboratory, Mr. Duong was a Mechanical Engineer at Textron/Cessna Aircraft. In this role, Mr. Duong was responsible for performing weight and fuel analysis to determine and isolate the center of gravity of various aircraft to ensure stability and safety. Mr. Duong began his career as an Aerospace Engineer at Raytheon Aircraft where he performed analysis of flight test data for FAA certifications and developing flight operations manuals.

Huda Syed

Huda Syed

Mr. Huda Syed is an Analyst at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for providing portfolio, investment and credit analysis as well as providing support to the marketing and technical teams. He brings over five years of aircraft related experience with extensive roles in financial analysis, business development, aircraft appraisals and strategic advisory. Prior to joining WNG in August 2016, Mr. Syed was a Finance Analyst at Ashtead Plant Hire Company, where he was responsible for payroll analysis and financial model development. He was also tasked with performing yearly budget analyses and the development of a contract pricing tool. Prior to Ashtead Plant Hire Company, Mr. Syed worked for the IBA Group as an Aviation Analyst and later as a Senior Analyst. In these roles at IBA, he completed numerous due diligence projects for various aviation related mergers and acquisitions, a detailed review of Kingfisher Airlines’ financial statements over five years during a legal proceeding against the company, and oversaw the strategic review of a flag carrier fleet.

Christopher Schreiner

Christopher Schreiner

Mr. Christopher Schreiner is an Analyst at WNG Capital, where he is responsible for financial analysis of future investments and fleet management decisions, as well as daily operations and lease compliance. Mr. Schreiner brings over 13 years of professional experience in management, sales, customer service, training and project management. Prior to joining WNG in February 2016, Mr. Schreiner worked in the Business Development Center at Gunn Chevrolet, where he was responsible for all areas of operations related to the Service Department within the Business Development Center. Prior to joining Gunn Chevrolet, Mr. Schreiner was an Account Manager at GPS of Texas. In this role he marketed, sold and installed GPS tracking systems used in commercial vehicles and machinery. Mr. Schreiner also served in the United States Army and currently holds a student pilot certificate while working towards his private pilot license.
